 Embracing Your Inner Child

AishRose's Top Tips on Embracing Your Inner Child

At times adulting can be so serious, routined and mundane. It is important to keep your joy, to develop a compassionate relationship with yourself and to take care of your emotional wellbeing.

Connecting with your Inner child is about reclaiming your Innocence, your freedom and self expression.

Being the person you needed as a child, which requires you to take care of YOU.

An outpour of unconditonal love for your younger self. This isnt an easy task and there is no time limit for Inner child healing, it starts with just one step at a time.

I have made a beginners list below of small activities to Implement during your day. To start, choose just ONE activity from the list to complete this week.

By the end of the week reflect on how this activity made you feel and whether you would do it again, or attempt another activity from the list to try in the following week.

1. Make a music playlist of all the songs you loved as a child/teenager.

2. Journal two of your happiest childhood experiences.

3. Make a bucket list of hobbies/activities you loved as a child and do them now as an adult.

For example, visit a theme park, have a picnic, go find a book at your local library, buy a cute teddy bear or play a game of football.

4. Watch two of your favourite films you loved as a child. Reflect on why these films resonated with you. What was your inner child trying to express to you?

5. Write a letter to your Inner child apologising for the ways you may have neglected them.

This Includes not having boundaries, neglecting your dreams, giving up on the things you love and not putting yourself first.

Be proud of how far you have come, embracing your true self and loving all parts of you is a bravery that most dont like to talk about.
